NRM party leaders and religious leaders led by Rt. Rev Nathan Ahimbisibwe, the Bishop of the new South Ankole Diocese, Former Supreme Mufti Sheikh Kasule Ndirangwa, and members of the public have offered prayers for First Lady Janet Museveni to completely recover from COVID-19.
During prayers held at the NRM Office of the National Chairman at Kyambogo, Kampala, the leaders noted that whereas Mrs Museveni has healed and resumed duties, she still needs prayers for complete recovery.
Bishop Nathan Ahimbisibwe of South Ankole Diocese observed that God has granted Hon. Mama Janet more time to accomplish her set mission, for which unity and togetherness should be at the forefront.
“The First Lady still has God’s mission that she has to accomplish. When the mission is still on God will protect you,” Bishop Ahimbisibwe said.

Rev. Ahimibisibwe further noted that, for all this time, the First Lady has been a true mother of the nation through her fear of the Lord and a true flag of Uganda, whose motto is “For God and My Country,” adding that; for this reason, the Lord ensured her recovery from the deadly disease to maintain the flame of integrity and God-fearing behavior among the citizens she has led by example.
He added that everyone matters in this nation and the need to work together.
“When we work together as a unit, we can lift this nation.”
Rwampara District Woman MP, Hon. Molly Asiimwe, a known close confidant of the First Lady who represented the First Family thanked God for healing Mama Janet, and the ONC National Coordinator, Hajjat Namyalo for organizing such a function which embraces the race of humanity, love and goodwill among others.
“The First Lady has done tremendous work for this country including infrastructural rehabilitation in the Ministry of Education. We are happy that by God’s grace, the First Lady is healthy. We ask God that she completely recovers so that she resumes her duties,” the District Woman MP, Rwampara County, Molly Musiime Asiimwe said.

Hon Molly who was also a key stakeholder in the event thanked Hajjat Namyalo and Bazzukulu for coming up with such a great idea and indeed they had to honour the invitation with full support.
The head of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye thanked God for ensuring Mrs Museveni gets healed from Covid.
“God answered our prayers and healed Maama. Maama has been around for the country and the president. She is the mother of the mighty country Uganda. We ought to pray for her complete recovery,” Namyalo said.
Hajjat Namyalo further tasked Mama Janet to use this time to strengthen her hold at the State House because, with her, the President continues to do his job ably while being sure that the mother of the nation is in charge.
“We also take this opportunity to ask her that she should never dare leave State House. This is like marriage, she has to continue in the State House for many more years to come.”

”Some dreamers think Museveni can be allowed to retire, as Bazzukulu we are not ready for such news. Today, Bazzukulu have told me not to only command Museveni but also Maama. Our maama, now that you are healed, we are giving you the job of staying with our Jajja like you have been his shoulder for the past 37 years as first lady. We are commanding you not to leave alone our jajja and also command you not to step out of State House, you are the only tested and proven first lady that can mother all of us, that’s an order from your beloved Bazzukulu!,” Hajjat Namyalo added.
Other NRM party officials who attended the prayers included Lands Minister Judith Nabakooba, Gomba West MP, Robinah Rwakoojo, NRM Vice Chairman for Buganda, Godfrey Kiwanda Ssuubi, Sembabule District Woman MP Mary Begumisa, Kampala Central Mayor, Salim Uhuru.
