CCTV Video Of How Ugandan Athlete Benjamin Kiplangat Was Killed Emerge (Video)

As detectives continue their relentless efforts to solve the murder case of Ugandan athlete Benjamin Kiplangat, new details have emerged regarding the evidence captured by a CCTV camera.

In the video seen by this website, the athlete was speeding along Kimumu Junction in Eldoret at around 1:15 am, seemingly evading capture from his detractors. While driving a black Toyota Hilux, Kiplagat turned the corner at high speed and crashed into a ditch.

Minutes later, two men rushed to the scene and stabbed him to death, leaving him by the roadside.

The duo proceeded to flee from the scene to avoid being identified by passersby.

According to local police commander Stephen Okal, detectives used the footage to apprehend two suspects in Uasin Gishu County and Trans Nzoia County respectively.

He confirmed that the two suspects are known criminals who have been terrorising the members of the public.

CCTV emerges of how Benjamin Kiplangat Was Murdered.

“We are in the advanced stage of the investigations and we will possibly be sending them to court tomorrow,” he stated.

The 34-year-old’s body was found in a car on Saturday night with multiple knife wounds to his neck and chest.

Though the motive of the murder is still unknown, detectives believe that the athlete was accosted and killed by the two men after he hit their motorcycle with his vehicle.

“This probably provoked them into that violent act,” Okal told the media.

One of the suspects, arrested by the detectives, was found with a knife, perceived to be the murder weapon.

The two suspects will be arraigned in court tomorrow to face murder charges.
