Nelly Chepkoech, the sensational Bomet woman whose story went viral after she allegedly called off her wedding to “make up her mind,” has stepped forward to clarify the situation.
In an exclusive interview with Citizen Digital, Nelly discussed the circumstances surrounding the event, revealing that the wedding was postponed by the presiding pastor.
‘We were eagerly waiting for the day (my wedding) but unfortunately, the pastor said we cannot proceed because we lacked some documents, said Chepkoech.
The wedding was originally scheduled for Saturday, December 9, at the Kapsoiyo Africa Gospel Church (AGC) in Bomet.
‘I would like to dispel rumours making rounds on social media that I have disappeared from home following the failed wedding. I’m still at my parents’ home and waiting to tie the knot when the scheduled time comes.’
Initial screenshots from the wedding WhatsApp group showed claims that Nelly called off the wedding herself, despite efforts by the pastor and others to persuade her to reconsider and proceed with the original wedding plans.
Nelly Chepkoech’s explanation clarifies the sequence of events, providing a new perspective on the situation that captivated online audiences.
