Police in Nyamira County are investigating an incident in which a middle-aged man mysteriously gained access into a KCB Bank branch within the area.
According to police, the man reportedly inside KCB, Nyamira branch as everyone left including workers.
He was locked inside, but bank’s systems in Nairobi headquarters sensed an ‘intrider’ inside during odd hours. Security was mobilized to guard the facility until Sunday morning when he was arrested.
The suspect ransacked the bank, an indication that he was looking for something particular.
Area police boss however clarified that no cash was stolen during the incident. He was not able to access the safe or the ATMs.

Police have since called in forensics and bank experts to assist with the investigations.
A multi-agency team will do an analysis of the CCTV footage to establish how the man got into the bank.
Appropriate action will be taken against the culprit.
