Detectives in Mukono District are holding their colleague for allegedly stealing four mobile phones from an electronic shop.

According to police, the incident took place on December 3, 2023 in Anthony Nyamura ward, Mukono Central Division, Mukono District.

Primarily evidence show that on December 3, 2023 at around 5:00 PM, a Uganda Police Force driver called Barasa Isac attached to Mbalala Police Station entered a shop dealing in electronics on pretence of buying an antenna.

During the process, Barasa picked three mobile phones and hide them in an artena box but fortunately, he was captured by CCTV cameras.

A case file was opened at Wantoni Police Post vid 19/03/12/2023. The suspect was detained as investigations continue as CCTV footage was retrieved.

Police have appealed to members of the public whose phones were stolen in this manner to report to Mukono Police station or to the police stations where they had earlier reported the theft of their phones.
