Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, the head, of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) has declared war against a group of what she describes as ‘Mafia Ministers’, who are spreading negative propaganda against her and the ONC, with the intent to frustrate the poverty alleviation programmes that her office has been implementing for the past several months.
According to Hajjat Namyalo, the said ‘Mafia Ministers’, after failing to perform to the expectations of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the government that appointed them, have instead started meddling in the operations of the ONC, by circulating unfounded allegations, with an aim of frustrating her, something that she is not about to accept.
It should be noted that for the past few months, Hajjat Namyalo, has through the ONC been donating assorted equipment to several youths around the country, among them National Resistance Movement Pressure Groups, SACCOs, associations and other groups, to enable them to fight poverty through starting up small projects from which they can some money.

Some of the assorted items that the ONC donates to these youth groups include; sewing machines, popcorn-making machines, salon equipment, and bricklaying machines, to mention but a few.
However, on seeing the success of Hajjat Namyalo’s initiative, it is said that the said ‘Mafia Ministers’ have since started gloating and mudslinging her by alleging in public fora that whereas she donates the items during day time, there are some individuals that later go back to the areas where she donates them and pick the items from the beneficiaries.
Hajjati Namyalo, sources at the ONC premises in Kyambogo reveal, is so disappointed by these ministers, who she says will not derail her from furthering President Museveni’s key objective of fighting poverty from the grassroots, noting that no amount of blackmail will impede her from executing the mandate of her office.

She expressed her disappointment at the said ‘Mafia Ministers’ on Tuesday evening in a tweet in which she stated that;
“A group of shameless ministers, desperate to maintain their positions, have resorted to failing the self-empowerment program of the Bazzukulu.”
As if to emphasize the matter, Hajjat Namyalo added; “These mafia ministers, who hate to witness empowered Bazzukulu, have planned to parade a group of bafere beneficiaries to H.E.”
Sources close to Namyalo reveal that the said Ministers intend to parade the Bafere beneficiaries so that they can bear false witness against the ONC, by claiming that the items they received were later taken away from them, well-knowing that they are not the genuine beneficiaries of the ONC Bazzukkulu empowerment projects.

Sending a stern warning to the detractors, Hajjat Namyalo concluded by telling the Mafia Ministers that;
“You had your time and failed! No amount of malice will stop us from empowering our fellow poor Bazzukulu as long as we are still alive! Now is Bazzukulu time!”
However, another source at the ONC intimated that this is not the first time the said Ministers have attempted to frustrate Hajjat Namyalo’s work, because they have been playing the sabotage card for a long time now, which compelled her to go up in arms with them.
“They have not started today, they have been trying all the possible games but failing; now they have launched a deadly mission to see Namyalo out of that ONC office by feeding Museveni with falsehoods,” the source said, adding that;
“All they want is to get her out of that office then they start stealing money. But I think Museveni knows these ruthless people, that’s why he has been ignoring them and instead continued supporting his Chief Muzzukulu to continue with the youth empowerment programmes.”

The same source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, emphasised that;
“In their next move, these mafias are planning to mobilize city gangs, coach them and take them to Museveni to lie to him that empowerment equipment like sawing machines, car washing machines, popcorn machines and others that ONC has been donating to unemployed youths to start up jobs, are donated during day on camera and picked again by the same office at night.”
“They reason that the above will ignite Museveni’s anger and compel him to relieve Hajjat Namyalo of her duties so that they can finally take over ONC and start pocketing taxpayers’ money while tarnishing the image of the NRM party and that of the National Chairman President Museveni,” the source noted.
In a bid to seek more clarification about the matter, this website spoke to one of the beneficiaries of ONC poverty alleviation projects identified as Frank Bulime, a resident of Kawempe Division, who testified that he received a popcorn-making machine and has been using it for several months now, without seeing anyone coming to take it away from him.
“I received a popcorn-making machine from ONC and Hajjat Namyalo handed it to me personally. But I have never seen anyone coming to take it as they claim,” Bulime said.
He added; “These are the enemies of development that President Museveni has been talking about. Imagine now I am saving Shs12,500 every evening. Before getting this machine, getting what to feed my family was a hustle. Right now I can’t curse but pray for those people fighting the good programs that Namyalo started up to save the common Ugandans from poverty. Those who are fighting her should know that they deserve to be in hell!.”
