Honoranta Nakato, a 49-year-old teacher, passed away due to kidney failure, leaving behind her five children, who are quintuplets. Nakato, a resident of Kyanika Village in Kyotera District, had given birth to the quintuplets five years ago. Despite her challenging health issues, she had managed to raise her children, who are currently five years old and attending school.
Nakato had faced significant health challenges in recent years, including a breast cancer diagnosis in 2014, which led to the removal of one of her breasts. However, in 2018, she was blessed with five children at once, consisting of three girls and two boys. After giving birth to the quintuplets, her health deteriorated, and she suffered from high blood pressure and kidney failure.
Her twin sister, Ms. Babirye, who had a three-month-old baby at the time, offered to help care for Nakato’s children, including breastfeeding them alongside her own baby. The quintuplets are currently in Top Class at a nursery school in Kyotera Town Council.
Kidney failure is a serious medical condition that can result from various factors, including high blood pressure and diabetes, as noted by Dr. Louis Ntambaazi, a doctor at Mengo Hospital.
Nakato’s passing has left her community in mourning, as she was not only a dedicated teacher but also a role model known for her generosity and kind-hearted nature. Her legacy lives on in the lives of her children, whom she worked hard to raise despite her health challenges.
