Zombo: A fuso truck with registration number UBL 8990 from Paidha Town Council destined for Zeu Local Market in Zombo District overturned leaving scores of traders with critical injuries. The accident happened in the wee hours of September 26, in Oyeyo Parish Nyapea Sub-county.

Reportedly, traders are mainly from Paidha town council and have been rushed to Nyapea Hospital. Asensio Avonu, a resident of Jupumwocu in Cana Parish said his brother was amongst the scores injured. He told this Publication whilst at Nyapea Hospital that no death was recorded.

Joe Ubedgiu the area councillor of Oyeyu Parish said more than 20 people have been rushed to Nyapea Hospital.

The cause of the accident is still unclear. and by press time, the Police had yet to visit the crime scene.

Last month, two people died in the same sub-county as a result of a nasty motorcycle collision.

Last year’s police annual crime report indicated that 12 people die of road crashes annually in Uganda and 61% of the cases are attributed to reckless riding.
