Zombo: Residents of Paidha Town Council, Zombo District were shocked after a man only identified as Prosper, was found hanging on a rope in a Toilet of Mvungu Upper Primary school.

The nasty incident took place on September 14, 2023 and the deceased is a resident of Paidha Town Council but onlookers failed to identify his home village.

The Standard have further learnt that the body of the deceased was found out by kids playing around the school compound around midday.

The LC1 chairperson of Mvungu cell where the incident happened confirmed the incident and said thus; “It’s true that a male  person was found hanging in a school Toilet, I don’t even know his clear identity. Let us wait for Police to come and we find a way forward.”

Some teachers at the school declined to comment about the shocking incident.

By press time, officers from Paidha Central Police Station were yet to visit the crime scene.

The LC 3 chairperson of Paidha Town Council Innocent Godfred onega has called upon Schools to have robust security to fend off strangers.
“It’s a shocking incident, we have lost a young man who might be more productive in future. We therefore call upon administrators of schools, churches, mosques to always have security in place to monitor situation in their premises,” he said.

Recent cases of suicide were registered in Abanga and Zombo Town Council in Zombo District.
