Nakawa: Yesterday’s function to mark Birthday Celebrations of H.E President Museveni and Katonga Fighters at Kololo was a big success and a surprise to many.
Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, the head of Office of the National Chairman (ONC) exhibited exceptional mobilisation skills that enlisted a clear manifestation that people still want Ssabalwanyi.
Yes; it was a surprise because it was evident from the beginning that there were people who were much sceptical about her capacity to organize such a great event that turned to be.

As she clearly mentioned, it was a big success amidst heavy sabotage.
From its conception, the head of Kyambogo based office had saboteurs who ranged from those claiming patent rights of the Office’s theme of “TOVA KU MAIN”, to a “Forced Tender” to print T- shirts, to a musician demanding for free money before releasing an abusive song castigating Hajjat for denying him a chance to get money from the President through her office.
Her proactive methods also, had created a seemingly belief amongst people who organize such functions and /or play a similar role of keeping a high the visibility of NRM party and especially it’s Chairman and others who had monopolized such events in the names of National Organization Committee (NOC).

The murky waters was quite a lot that one wouldn’t imagine this “Muzzukulu in Chief” was going to survive and later alone put up a big function that it was.
Many who were sceptical had declined from associating with her office if not de-campaigning the function.
In fact, there remains a big question as to why some very important people in NRM party, much suspected to be much visible yesterday, were missing.

On Wednesday late evening, I called on her at Kyambogo office and found a very tired but still inspired and strong courageous lady being bombarded with many calls from people asking to be invited including those who had vowed to frustrate the function.
She was forced to order for more cards in order to meet the new demand. The place was a beehive of activities and many demands for T-shirt and other things.
I was able to talk to her briefly, thanked her for her courage and steadfast ways of work and left without any promotional materials for day given to me because competition for them was very much unbearable.
I want to thank her for a reason that I believe she had less resources as compared to other organizations that have been handling such functions. These resources range from money, human labour, time and many others.

One of the most brilliant idea she employed was having food prepared at the venue. This helps in many ways like cost saving in transport and time given the problem of traffic jam in Kampala.
In short, I want to say that it was a vivacious function and a big victory against sabotage.
Congratulations Hajjat Namyalo and the whole ONC team.
God bless.
