Mystery Surrounding Death of Top Police Boss, Lifeless Body Found In Septic Tank

In a somber turn of events, the lifeless body of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Robert Ojandu was discovered submerged in a septic tank on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. The unsettling revelation occurred at Ojandu’s residence in Ssanga ward, which is situated in Gombe division, Wakiso district, as reported by Nakukuba village chairperson Grace Ssentongo.

The circumstances surrounding this tragic incident remain shrouded in mystery. Ojandu’s wife, Sentina Abaro, recounted that her husband’s mental state had inexplicably deteriorated, prompting her to urgently seek assistance from the LC1 chairperson. To her utter shock and devastation, she discovered her husband’s lifeless body within the confines of their home.

“He appeared to have developed some mental disorder and looked so depressed, but I could not tell what had exactly happened,” Abaro expressed, highlighting the puzzling nature of her husband’s sudden change in behavior.

At the time of reporting, the Police had cordoned off the scene to conduct a thorough examination of the situation. Additionally, statements from eyewitnesses were being recorded, and preparations were underway to transport Ojandu’s body to City Mortuary in Mulago, Kampala, where a postmortem examination will be conducted to shed light on the circumstances surrounding his untimely demise.

SSP Robert Ojandu was assigned to the Police headquarters, specifically the Peace Support Directorate, making his passing all the more poignant. This incident follows closely on the heels of another tragic event, as just a day prior, a Police officer lost her life when she was shot by her husband, who is also a Police officer, at the Jinja Road Police Barracks.
