Renowned American gospel musician Paul Robert Wilbur has landed in Kampala ahead of a highly anticipated music gala organized by Prophet Elvis Mbonye. The event is scheduled to take place at Zoe Grounds in Lweza on Entebbe Road on Friday, September 1.

Paul Robert Wilbur arrived at Entebbe International Airport recently and expressed his gratitude to his supporters who facilitated his visit to Uganda. He eagerly anticipates participating in a powerful session of prophetic worship during the upcoming event.

Hailing from a diverse musical background, Wilbur is recognized as an American Jewish musician, worship leader, and guitarist. His musical journey began with the release of his first known work, a live music album titled “Up to Zion,” in November 1991.

Born on January 18, 1951, to a Jewish father and Baptist mother, Wilbur’s religious upbringing was a blend of various churches. He eventually embraced Judaism and started attending Temple, while acknowledging Jesus as his Jewish Messiah.

During his college years in the 1970s, Wilbur initially aspired to become an opera singer. He embarked on his recording career with the group “Harvest,” alongside Ed Kerr and Jerry Williams. They produced two albums: the eponymous “Harvest” in 1979 and “Morning Sun” in 1981. Wilbur departed from the group after the second album.

In 1987, he joined the group “Israel’s Hope” before embarking on a solo career in 1991 with the release of “Up to Zion,” a live album published by Hosanna Music. Wilbur’s discography boasts numerous albums, including “Shalom Jerusalem” (1995), “Holy Fire” (1997), “Jerusalem Arise!” (1999), “Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem” (2002), “The Watchman” (2005), “Worship from the Heart of Israel” (2006), “Praise Adonai” (2007), “Live: A Night of Extravagant Worship” (2008), and “Desert Rain” (2010), among others.

Paul Robert Wilbur is married to Luanne Wilbur, and the couple has two sons, Nathan and Joel.

The music gala organized by Prophet Elvis Mbonye is set to provide an extraordinary platform for attendees to experience the fusion of gospel music and prophetic worship led by Paul Robert Wilbur.
