Police in Kampala have launched an investigation into a suspected murder incident near the Golf Course Roundabout. The body of an unidentified male adult, believed to be in his 40s, was discovered in the area on Monday morning.
Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Area Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire issued a statement, noting that the discovery was made around 8:00 am. The police at Wandegeya promptly responded to the call and found the victim wearing a green jacket, white trousers, and open shoes.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim may have been killed at a different location before being moved to the Golf Course Roundabout. In an effort to gather evidence, the police will thoroughly review CCTV camera footage in the vicinity to piece together the events leading up to the incident and potentially identify suspects.
Owoyesigyire assured the public that updates would be provided as the investigation progresses. He urged anyone with information related to the case to come forward and collaborate with investigators.
The body has been transported to the City Mortuary Mulago for a postmortem examination. Authorities are also awaiting the identification and claim of the body by the victim’s relatives.
