The Chairperson Boona Bagaigahare Nyekundire Group Madam Peace Rugambwa Twinamatsiko a senior NRM mobilizer from Western Uganda is on wanted by locals of Rukungiri District after failing to fulfill the promises made in the 2016/2017 to win support for her NRM Party in the area.
Residents in Rukungiri, Ntungamo, Kanungu, Kisoro, Rubanda, Kabale, and Rukiga were mobilized into groups by a non-government organization (NGO), “Boona Bagaigahare Nyekundeire“, headed by a one Peace Rugambwa, who obtained Shs 12,000 from each person as “registration fees” and to register with the Sacco to benefit from the organization which she saying that President promised to financial support their SACCO.
This money was picked from the elderly, underprivileged, widows, and youths in the several sub-counties including Bwambara and Bugangari, Rukungiri district.
“It’s now payback time. Either Rugambwa refunds our money or NRM will pay a huge price in the coming elections.” Said the locals
In her part, Rugambwa says the money was used for “registration” and “membership” fees. All the items she was giving out to the public like seedlings, mattresses, and other agricultural products are no longer coming, “I even used some of my money to settle the situation by buying items like Mattresses, seedlings, and others, gave out until I ran bankrupt.” She added
Rugambwa says she would continue to mobilize for her party NRM irrespective of the accusations of diddling the public. However, some residents said they will deal with her if she visits their area.
“Peace Rugambwa should dare not to step into this area under the guise of mobilization unless she returns our money. The sick and old are grieving,” said residents of the area.
“They think President Museveni gave me things to take to them which I have not got and I am even blocked from meeting the President to raise this concern”. Rugambwa says
