FULL PROFILE: Meet Ayebare Restytuta, The Incoming ‘Ankole Region’ Miss Tourism

As some regions go on to crown their Miss Tourism Beauty Queens, The Ankole Region is set to crown theirs on a yet to be confirmed date.

Ayebare Restytuta one of the contestants revealed to this website that regarding this year’s theme “Greening Tourism”, her focus will be on Enganging the youth into initiatives that create a beautifully conducive environment for both local and foreign tourists in Ankole, Uganda and Africa as a whole.

“I am thrilled to share my passion for greening tourism and cultural diversity,” she said.

Born in Rubirizi District and from the Batsaba clan, Ayebare believes Uganda and particularly the Ankole Region is very rich with a number of sightings/tourist attractions that are known to the locals, but often not recognised outside their communities.

“I intend to create linkages with outside communities to grow the local tourism in my region,” Ayebare said.

She adds that she’s itching to change livelihoods by tackling the potential of every earthed and unearthed treasure that lies hidden in the plain sight of the communities.

The 22 years old prospective beauty Queen says she looks up to the works of the Late Maria Mutagamba, the line minister who introduced tourism pageants in Uganda.

Ayebare is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) at Makerere University majoring in Human Resource Management.

She went to Rugazi Parents Primary school Rubirizi and St.Kagwa Boarding Primary school Bushenyi for her primary education before joining Maryhill High School Mbarara for both my O and A levels.
