Dr Sudhir Hails President Museveni For Creating Conducive Environment For Global Investment

Dr Sudhir Ruparelia has heaped praise on President Museveni for creating a smooth environment in Uganda for investors to exploit and his continuous support to the business community in the country.

Sudhir, who is the Chairman Board of Trustees Lohana Community in Uganda was speaking at the Lohana Business Forum at Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala.

The Businessman revealed how accommodative Ugandans are, a reason some foreign families have been able to live in the country for over 120 years and have succeeded in establishing a chain of businesses.

“Uganda’s conducive climate had boosted our businesses’ growth and fortunately HE. Museveni is such a far-sighted person who supports the business community of Uganda and he is always willing to listen to our concerns,” said Dr Sudhir.

He added; “Uganda has many natural resources, a young and increasingly educated workforce, steadily rising middle income and more stable in governance including microeconomic policies which makes an idea of this nation for a long term investment.”

Dr Sudhir explained to Museveni that Lohana International Business Forum is an initiative aimed at connecting the Lohana Businesses and deliberating on market opportunities as well as for businesses to better understand the regulatory and fiscal environment of participating countries.

“As the chairman board of trustees of Lohana Community, it is my privilege to extend a warm welcome to you, particularly those who travelled from abroad to be with us. Your Excellence your presence have made everyone’s day. Thank you for finding time from your extremely busy schedule,” the money magnet said.

“Some people who are here for the first time can’t believe that such a beautiful country exists in the world. Uganda has a conducive investment climate which helps businesses to consistently grow,” he assured the businessmen and women.

Sudhir described the president as foresighted, supportive of the business communities in Uganda and is always willing to listen to all business entrepreneurs whenever need arises.
“We have invested in commercial activities like agro-processing, ICT, construction, pharmaceutical, hospitality and education.”

In his speech, Museveni encouraged the Lohana Community to take advantage of various investment opportunities in Uganda and do business.

The President outlined a huge cluster row materials mainly of agro products and mining which need value addition by setting up factories in Uganda.

The Lohana International Business Forum 2023 was held under the theme “Africa calling”. The four-day symposium saw over 800 delegates from 28 countries across the world attend.

The activities were graced by the minister for investment Evelyn Anite and supported by a number of businesses in Uganda

This was the first International Business forum organized by Lohana Mahaparisad, the Mother body of the Lohana Community. The President of Lohana Mahaparisad Satish Vithalani chose Uganda as the host county during his visit in 2022.

The Lohana people have been doing business in Uganda for over 150 years. Some bravely remained behind when President Idi Amin expelled 80, 000 people of Indian origin in 1972.

The Notable Business houses of Lohana origins are the Mehta Group, Madhvani Group, Ruparelia Group, Picfare Group, Lato Milk, House Of Dawda, and Translink Group, amongst many others.
