UACE 2022: UNEB Breaks Silence On A-level Results Release Date

Assessment body Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has opened up on reports that it plans to release the 2022 end of A-level Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) results on Tuesday, February 14, 2023.

UACE is the third and last set of national examinations that UNEB is mandated to conduct after end of primary and O-level secondary education exams. Months after conducting the exams, the assessment body releases the results at an official event normally presided over by the Minister of Education and Sports.

A total of 97,890 candidates had registered to sit the 2022 UACE examinations at 2,255 Examination Centres across the country. Of these candidates, 57,177 or 68 per cent of the were males, while 40,718 or about 42 per cent were females

Following the successful release of the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results and of the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) results on February 09, 2023, a notice began circulating online, with its authors purporting to be UNEB officials claiming that the results from A-level exams will be released on Tuesday.

However, UNEB has come out to dismiss the notice labelling it fake news, and telling Ugandans to disregard it with the contempt it deserves.

“Please disregard social media fake news indicating that UNEB will release the 2022 UACE results on February 14,” the assessment body said in a short statement.

So, when will UNEB release the UACE 2022 results?

The examinations body has urged parents, candidates and schools to wait for an official communication on the release date and time. “The official date of release will be communicated at the right time,” Uneb said.

It should be remembered that fake news reports are not uncommon, especially before the release of national examination results. Just before the release of UCE 2022 results, there were reports that the Uneb system had been hacked into and that results had been lost.
